Established in 1985, the University of Eastern Asia has grown from a modest institution into one of the region's most prestigious universities. Our 40-year journey has been marked by academic excellence, innovative research, and a commitment to developing global citizens who can make meaningful contributions to society.

From our humble beginnings with just 200 students and 15 faculty members, we have expanded to become a comprehensive university serving over 15,000 students from 50+ countries, supported by 800+ world-class faculty and staff.

Key milestones in UEA's development

1985

Foundation

University of Eastern Asia established with 200 students and 15 faculty members, offering 5 undergraduate programs.

1990

First Graduate Programs

Launched Master's programs in Business Administration and Engineering, marking our entry into graduate education.

1995

International Partnerships

Established first international partnerships with universities in Europe and North America for student exchange programs.

2000

Research Excellence

Founded first research institutes and received $5M in external research funding, establishing UEA as a research university.

2005

Campus Expansion

Completed major campus expansion project, adding modern facilities including new library, laboratories, and student housing.

2010

Digital Innovation

Launched comprehensive digital learning platform and became first university in region to offer fully online degree programs.

2015

Global Recognition
